Besides the shelter and meals provided, on a rotating basis, by local churches and synagogues, IHN provides many direct client services and support. They include individual case management, parenting skills training, life skills training, GED support and mentoring, employment mentoring and searches, child care searches, computer skills training, detailed budget/financial counseling and management, mental and physical health referrals and support.
Other ways you can help: The IHN office in Somerville is in need of many supplies: toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, dish soap, cleaning supplies, diapers (sizes 4-5-6). Please leave all donations for IHN in the Gladish Room. Also, several IHN families are in need of clothing—both adult and children sizes. Please call Meridith Scott for a complete list of needs and sizes.
PLEASE NOTE: Lamington Church will again be hosting our friends from IHN on Sunday, February 26 - Sunday, March 5, 2017. We will need many volunteers. Please consider helping out and making our guests feel safe and welcome--look for signup sheets in the Gladish Room as the date gets nearer. Please call Meridith Scott if you have any questions at (908) 236-0206.
The Somerset Food Bank is struggling to feed the growing number of local families. Please think about bringing a non-perishable item to church each Sunday, or take a canvas bag from the Gladish Room and return it filled with groceries. This is a wonderful mission project and learning experience for the children of Lamington. Below is a list of items on their wish list. Please leave donations in the Gladish Room; they will be delivered to the Food Bank each week. Wish List: Parmalat Milk, canned:meats—chicken, beef, tuna, soups, veggies, fruits in own juice, boxed stuffing, mac n’ cheese, diapers. Thank you!
